I have regretted using #Google #Photos (..& in extend, Google #One).

The difficulties I have faced to download all my data via Google #Takeout have tired me but have also made me more determine to finish the task of stop using these #services. Even the option of syncing between #cloud services that offer a better option for (then) local sync, has failed because Google's process can't skip the one file that causes issues.

Everything around this #process, is to #discourage users.- Well, F.U. 🖕

On Fridays I run to the Chinese food court and grab some takeout.

Every time, the server looks at my non-Chinese face and throws in a fork.

I always have to ask her to throw in a pair of chopsticks.

I would expect this type of racial profiling from the white folks... but my Asian allies... so disappointed LOL

@ente So glad I found your photo service.

I completed my #GooglePhotos #Takeout and have upload my entire #Photography library to ente.io. Used delete duplicates to clean up my collection. I found the facial recognition to be very accurate. Object recognition quite good too.

If you are looking for a secure, #e2e private cloud storage service for your #SilentSunday and other #photos that is not #Google, I'd suggest giving #Ente a try!

Person I work with ordered coffee and a light breakfast from DoorDash, was in the process of sipping the coffee when DD sent him this notice, and he tried to tell Customer Service that everything was in fact just fine, and the auto-robot game him a credit which was more than the purchase price plus delivery and tip.

Ah, technology.

For the math adverse, 831 minutes is more than 13, approaching 14, hours.

I ordered takeout from Auntie's Kitchen (butter chicken, naan, and kheer). It came with this handwritten note:

"Each day comes bearing its gifts. Untie the ribbon. No matter how bad of a day you are having, I guarantee you there is still something positive about it. We just have to find that positive and focus on that. Life will be that much better then! Have a wonderful day! Lots of love!!!"

FWIW, I was not having a bad day. This note is strange and sweet.

The food was good. #note #letters #takeout

This afternoon I was getting #takeout at a #drivethrough. I was asked if I wanted a #bag for my order and declined.

At the window. after paying, I was given my meal on a #TRAY. A metal (or plastic colored to look like metal) tray , I kid you not.

And before anyone tells me I sound like #HankHill #Yellingatclouds, I KNOW I sound like Hank Hill (or #GrandpaSimpson). But I can't be the only one who sees a flaw in ditching paper bags, only to replace them with plastic or metal trays.

Can I?

The average Massachusetts resident spends ~$4,800 per year on takeout.

I imagine a lot of that is office lunches, because that's where I used to spend the most on takeout.

But I never spent that much, at any point in my life. And since the pandemic started I think I spend less than 5% of that, but there are some people out here making up for my frugality
