Always initiate a #task with an action word (a verb) to provide clarity and empower the audience. For instance, instead of merely stating "product blog post" use a phrase like "draft a blog post about my product". This approach results in more confidence as the required action is clear. Tasks, whether ongoing, completed, or pending, can be broken into actionable steps to delegate effectively, ensuring clarity on the progress toward the ultimate goal. #efficiency #taskmanagement #projectplanning

Improving my #productivity has never been this exciting! Visualizing my tasks in thennext.com on an interactive map allows me to easily see their value. It's importance is done by dragging up and down. When is determined by left or right. Each task finds its own space, making it simple to understand what needs attention first. This visual approach helps me stay focused and efficient. What tricks do you use? #ProductivityHack #TaskManagement #VisualThinking

9to5 Google: Google Tasks is now its own website . “At the end of 2023, Google Calendar gained a fullscreen Tasks interface on the web. That experience is now available as a standalone Google Tasks website.”

I used Daylio to quickly capture my mood, but stopped using it after a year.

I also like Raindrop for hoarding... for collecting links and ideas.

Goblin Tools is also magical, especially for analyzing tone of voice in emails and text messages. The magic todolist is also nice idea, but I don't have a use case for this.

Default Apps update for 2024
You can find my default apps list from 2023 here and there aren't many changes so I'll only highlight those few apps that did change.

Tasks: nvim-orgmode

A couple of weeks ago I started using Obsidian for note taking. Think OneNote, EverNote, etc, except everything is stored locally and in Markdown (light formatted txt document) so can be read by any simple text editor.

Not locked into any ecosystem or platform, yet the application is multiplatform. I'm finding it a great way to organize text, posts, tasks, reference information and the like.

Also a huge community and plugin development - want to integrate it into ToDoist? There's a plugin for that.

In some ways, it's deceivingly simple... all the power is kinda hidden behind a learning curve. Could be a new hobby...

If you are used to advanced task tracking systems with projects, tags, subtasks, detailed notes etc. (org-mode or even a full-fledged project management system such as Trello) and not satisfied with the simplicity of a system like ToDo.txt, there is a @TiddlyWiki plugin for Task Management. tiddlytables.tiddlyspot.com/

It conveniently appears in the side bar, so that you don't have to figure out how to "pin" a tiddler.

Listen friends, I haven't been excited like that about a piece of software since a while. But I just spent days, DAYS! completely immersed in Anytype and WOW!

It. Is. Awesome.
I must spread the good news 🎉
Check it out 👉 anytype.io

I'm gonna sound like an ad but
I really have no game in this haha (someone pay me to advertise for Anytype please 😅).

But listen, this productivity/note/todo/wiki app is:

Local first 🏠
End-to-end encrypted 🔐
Privacy by Default 🔒
Excellent design :blobcatrainbow:
Free plan :blobcatheart:
Paid plans for remote hosting ☁️
Sync over local network 🔄
Mobile app 📱
Open-code 👀
Mesmerizing organization features :blobaww:
Insanely customizable :blobcatscience:
Kanban visualization :blobcatprofit:
Calendar visualization 📆
Sharing features :blobcheer:
Separate space for separate data :meowBox:
Export features 🚀

It only misses a spreadsheet and notification integration and I would be in heaven. Maybe it will come soon 🤞✨

Check out their GitHub: github.com/anyproto

All the thanks to @pseudorandom and @jxhn for recommending it to me. What a wonderful discovery! :awesome:
