This tile artwork by Maria Keil, "Pastores" (Shepherds) is at the Museu Nacionaldo Azulejo in Lisbon. Walking through the museum, I came across this, which was easily the coolest piece in the gallery.

And that led me down the rabbit hole of wikipedia, where I learned more about this amazing person, who many among other things did the tile for the Lisbon subway:

Love this beautiful Art Nouveau style tenement tile pattern, featuring Scottish Bluebells. It's from a tenement close in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow.

Here, the metallised tiles are incidental but their colours are more dramatic. There is hot magenta and pink, alongside orange. The mirrored windows capture a distorted, fragmented image of the church opposite, which is heavily embellished with brightly coloured ceramic tiles.

Love these little mosaic flowers in the arboretum of the Glasgow BotanIc Gardrens. They were created as part of a series by Wilma van der Meyden.

Yay. I finished the tutorial.

It's a way to quickly map tiles (textures) onto faces in a Quake-like style in Blender and then get that into Godot. It's really quite easy!

Love these rather beautiful decorative tiles on a cast-iron fireplace in the hallway of a Victorian townhouse in the West End of Glasgow which has now been converted into flats.

Today's instalment of oxide tile. These are on an old, derelict building.

The glaze has cracked extensively and this time the surface acts much more like a mirror but there is also a rainbow effect which adds colour. Here, the main colour effects are violet and bronze-green.

Love the mosaics lining the corridor leading up to the boardroom of the former Clyde Navigation Trust building on Robertson Street in Glasgow.

This is a very successful modern take, in the foyer of an architect's practice. These are clearly still a thing.
