Fortnite kehrt zurück: Wie Epic Games Apples App-Store-Bann umgeht
Nach fast fünf Jahren Sperre kündigte Epic Games überraschend die Rückkehr von Fortnite in den US-App Store an. Doch wie ist das möglich, obwohl Apple das US-Entwicklerkonto des Unt

I'm really glad Tim Sweeney is calling out other tech CEOs for brown-nosing Trump.

That said, if he really wanted to stick it to Silicon Valley, maybe he should stop brown-nosing Microsoft (who gave $1 million to Tump's inauguration) and actually support Linux gaming instead of being a massive thorn in the side of it. :neodog_what:

PC Gamer · Epic CEO Tim Sweeney says tech leaders are 'pretending to be Republicans' to gain favor with Trump, skirt antitrust laws, and ultimately 'rip off consumers and crush competitors' By Tyler Wilde

@drahardja These crypto bro type personalities #DanielElk and #TimSweeney position themselves as champions for the little guy, yet they both have estimated net worths that are double or triple the estimated net worth of Tim Cook.

No dog in this fight personally, but it seems disingenuous to be fighting against the so-called #AppleTax that made them rich beyond their wildest dreams while Spotify continues to lose 💰 hand over fist and Epic Games is not publicly traded. 🤷‍♂️

#TimSweeney, founder and CEO of Epic, said: “#Disney was one of the first companies to believe in the potential of bringing their worlds together with ours in #Fortnite, and they use #UnrealEngine across their portfolio. Now we’re collaborating on something entirely new to build a persistent, open and interoperable ecosystem that will bring together the Disney and Fortnite communities.”

That quote from Tim Sweeney was presented in one of the opening chapters of a long but entertaining web video called 'The Future is a Dead Mall':

Produced by Folding Ideas, it's a deconstruction of the VR hype cycle though the lens of "Metaverse" rhetoric. As a specific example, a crypto pump'n'dumper's online utopia called Decentraland.

I'm sure anyone reading this understand the crucial difference between a web page and a FarceBook page. I wonder if Sweeney does?

It's potentially better for his business if he doesn't...

@britt that's because #EpicGames specifically went out of their way to more or les #ban the #SteamDeck's hardware so even if you force #Windows on it you'll get the middle finger by them to the point that you'll be forced to play a #Web version...

It's just blatant assholeism by #TimSweeney...

Nothing prevents him to literally sell a #bootable #MicroSD-#ROM with #fortnite on it,

I mean I've seen more absurd shit in the 7th console generation:
