#VGMWednesday in the pursuit of greed we have given up everything. If your mind is not sheared or assassinated by now then you may be invited to an outer space tournament where you can win LOTS OF PRIZES!

Watch out for your opponents from behind with the A.S.S. Cam!

Play as a mutant, a cyborg, a um dominatrix, a reptile or the inexplicable COWMAN.

Get your money's worth in baubles ripe for any kleptomaniac to acquire, with various rarities and some just appearing at random so you'll constantly be scouring the map so you can finally escape. I'd buy that for a dollar! (Except you can get it for FREE from Red Shadow Software)

Attached is the first level music. Enjoy. Thank you very much Andrew Gregory Sega!

So, considering I have been playing Radia Senki recently, a JRPG, I think it is a foregone conclusion on what music I will pick from this game for #VGMWednesday

If you took the punt and said the 『Battle Theme』you're absolutely right. If you play this game, you will be hearing this track A LOT. The encounter rate in this game can vary from a full length of a corridor to you raised your pinkie finger. At least the battles are relatively engaging with the real time combat, maybe I should say forcibly engaging 😅
But this isn't the venue for discussing gameplay! Back to the music.

Is it as good as the Final Fantasy battle theme... No. But it is still an appropriately energetic piece. I encourage people to check out other parts of the OST as it is. By and large, it's a pretty decent soundtrack.

This #VGMWednesday happens to share the release anniversary with #BalanWonderworld !

So, I present to you my favorite song on the album. The Hydrac. A fire and lava-spewing mix of a dragon and fire hydrant (yes, you read that right) giving shape to the fears of a firefighter walking the tightrope between saving lives and self-preservation.

The song itself feels like a mixture of Cirque du Soleil, fiery hammered dulcimer, and BOSS FIGHT.

Hey there #VGMWednesday

IT'S TIME TO SPLIT

Legendary Goldeneye-like with a mish-mash of elements of various locations and time periods.

A built-in level editor, a number of multiplayer modes and hundreds of playable characters. And that arcade mode? On par with my unreal tournament experiences. It even has secret platinum medals if you can ever get those...

In this track you're at the Mexican Village multiplayer map, a common vista for your compadres from your pueblos.

It's the first Arcade Mode challenge you'll be a part of. I especially remember a later challenge where Virus mode activates and you gotta run for your life! From what? The handful of monkeys that just set themselves on chartreuse fire!

For my first #VGMWednesday post on this account, I would like to start with something well-known among the gaming community. This is the theme for Green Hill Zone, the opening stage for the original Sonic the Hedgehog. Even though this song has been reused and remixed to hell and back, for many, this was their first experience with the blue hedgehog. Even though STH1 wasn't my first Sonic game, listening to it makes me feel nostalgic and a wide range of other emotions.

So. Recently I got into viewing speedruns of the "Legendary Kusogé", Hoshi wo Miru Hito. It's... very bad. But there are interesting parts! One is the music. Whoever worked the music definitely could compose and experimented some, but given the reputation of the game, no one has taken credit for it.

Here's a great cover:

For this week's piece, it's obviously a tribute to the work of Stéphane Picq, and of course it's a track from Cryo's Dune soundtrack, which was one of the biggest video-game slams of my childhood.

I had the CD-ROM version, and I still remember the big box with its incredible design, with its full-size manual that could be read horizontally, and this game with its crazy visuals and music, one of the first I played with 3D CGI animations.

For #VGMWednesday, I planned on posting some Christopher Larkin music. Yesterday was the anniversary of him releasing the soundtrack for TOHU (2021) on Bandcamp and I think I'll celebrate by showcasing a track. Here's Fish Home. Enjoy. :)

*Edited because I misread the year. Whoops!

For #vgmwednesday here is the Boundless Ocean from #FinalFantasyIII #DS

This game (and this remake) are somewhat maligned within the series. The music arranged by Sekito and Kawamori doesn't take big risks and can feel a bit muddy sometimes.

This specific track is one that enhances the original quite a bit. It is first heard when the player leaves the self-contained floating continent to reveal a massive, un-ending ocean. This arrangement does a good job capturing the sad loneliness of the moment.

FF3 is a personal favourite of mine. This moment in the game has always made an impression on me.

🇬🇧 Anyone like some Japanese flair? Sticking with the theme of #MonsterHunter for #VGMWednesday, I thought I'd share the Mizutsune theme this time, another one of my favorite MH tracks. When MH Generations was announced, I fell in love with the Mizutsune at first sight (though it was still known as Tamamitsune and the game as Monster Hunter Cross at that time), and the #soundtrack was just the icing on the cake. 🥰

Ringing in the new year with some #vgmwednesday 👾
Taking inspiration from #MoodMusicMonday theme, “A fresh start” I’m posting a song that embodies that mood.
“Hurray” by Ryo Yamazaki, sung by Laura Pitt-Pulford, is a bright, uplifting song about taking chances, because even if things don’t go perfectly, it may be the best chance you’ve got.

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. There will always be people who appreciate your work.
