Belatedly found someone to host the Bavaria (sailboat) forums and he's got them back up and running, hooray, despite #Ofcom threats. He's optimistic about this and hopefully ready to deal with any legal bullshit coming this way.

I am not interested in running my own #email server, #weblog server, etc, etc, etc.
That's a full time job in and of itself, and I know this, because I founded what was (as far as I know in the mid-1990s) the first 100% broadband end-user ISP in America.
I don't want to be in that business, anymore. I don't want to run my own #fediverse server, my own #newsgroup server, my own #webforum server, especially because so many of these basic services rely entirely on network effects for usefulness.
Shutting down the web forum I've been running for not quite 10 years now.
Could've coped with increasing hosting costs, spambots and troll factory somehow.
But what killed it is vague, overbearing legal threats from the #UK, a country I left when it drunkenly stumbled out of the EU after too many pints of Ole Tory.
