"Duel of the Fates" is a #musicalTheme recurring in the Star Wars #prequelTrilogy and the #ExpandedUniverse. It was composed by #JohnWilliams and recorded for the #filmSoundtrack of #StarWarsEpisodeIThePhantomMenace by the #LondonSymphonyOrchestra (LSO) and the #LondonVoices. This #symphonic piece is played with both a full orchestra and a #choir. The lyrics are based on a fragment of an archaic #Welsh poem, #CadGoddeu (Battle of the Trees), and are sung in #Sanskrit.

I joined an LDWA walk around #Liverpool yesterday. As well as visiting the Festival Gardens, Sefton Park and Princes Park we also went to the Welsh Streets.

Those streets have a rich history having been built by and for the #Welsh migrants in the 19th century and refurbished in the 21st.

Something we noticed is the bricked up window above the front doors. We couldn't work out why all of the houses had this.

I've posted Google Street View photos of Kinmel Street from 2008 and 2022 to show that this wasn't a result of the refurbishment.

Any ideas?

The end of a terraced street of red brick houses. Every door and window has metal shutters over them to keep people out. Neighbouring houses have their front doors adjacent to each other. Above the two doors, at the first floor level, is a brick-built window frame which is permanently filled in.
