Really interesting essay today by Caroline Criado Perez (if you haven’t read her book, Invisible Women, I highly recommend) on why she doesn’t think imposter “syndrome” exists, but rather that women feeling like imposters is a very rational response to a culture that treats women in many roles as imposters. There’s a perfection trap.

Invisible Women · The Perfection TrapBy Caroline Criado Perez

"[T]he #Jewish #Orthodox #Feminist Alliance (JOFA #Australia) is hosting an inaugural #writers’ retreat in the Yarra Valley from May 23-25, offering aspiring #women writers the chance to connect with like-minded individuals, and foster their creative and spiritual growth.

This is the first time that a writers’ weekend of this nature has been held in Australia, and we are so pleased to be able to support women to create works of #Torah related to women’s #health, encompassing mental, spiritual and physical health,” said JOFA Australia president Nomi Kaltmann."

Well, for starters, no foreign scientist should be going to #texas . We already know their policies discriminate against #lgbtqia , and potentially even criminalize visiting #women for what they choose to do with their bodies there. (You do NOT want to have sex or risk pregnancy in that state, as they are ALREADY targeting non-Texans.)

Also, no US scientists should go to Texas either. In fact, you should be flooding the comms of the organizer, to make sure this doesn't happen again.

"Proponents say working in person full-time will boost productivity, but experts say that women will pay a unique price...Now it appears that many women rely on remote work to succeed at home and in their professional role. CNBC’s annual Women at Work survey recently found that about a quarter of respondents said their work-life balance had improved over the last year. They attributed the change primarily to having a more flexible schedule. "

"I wish white Christian Conservatives had the same passion for migrant children, school shooting victims, sick toddlers, young black men, Muslim families, LGBTQ teens, the environment, and women's autonomy over their bodies that they claim to have for embryos."

"American women have never been this resigned to staying single. They are responding to major demographic shifts, including huge and growing gender gaps in economic and educational attainment, political affiliation and beliefs about what a family should look like."

Some men need to feel comfortable contributing more equally with childcare and making less money than their partners?
