Congrats!

The high speed #Xfinity router made a huge difference with my mobile phones that used to "get lost" & have to be reset constantly at slower speeds. Not so with the higher wifi speed.

But even with the higher speed router, I had to add a couple of their extenders to get sufficient wifi coverage in my 2 story, 5 bdrm house.

Don't notice as much of a difference streaming #TVshows & #movies & the operation of my Ring cams & chimes but that's obviously a bit better too.

The only games I play are Candy Crush & Wordle which aren't much affected by wifi speed. 🤷

Since I know we have a lot of tech savvy people here, I need someone who has familiarity with using the #Xfinity Gateway versus using your own modem/router.

I am text savvy to an extent, but I really have no patience with having to mess around in modem/router settings. I bought an expensive Netgear nighthawk last year and I have been using that, but I am not getting the speeds that I should be getting for the Xfinity service I’m paying for.

Should I just call it a day and go get one of their gateways which is actually included in my plan price?

Anybody else in the #pdx area having problems with their #xfinity internet? My internet is down but Xfinity's fucking AI chatbot is denying that there are any outages

Edit: I just figured out what the problem is. I heard some weird noises outside and went out and there was a guy from Xfinity with a ladder leaned up against the side of my house because he had just cut my cable

DERG HAS FIBER INTERNET IT'S SO FAST :dragnhappy:

Hardest part was cancelling the old service. Had to spend 15 minutes convincing Comcast/Xfinity that yes, I do want to cancel. No, I don't need a "special deal" you just found. Just cancel. No, I already got the other service. No, I don't want that other "special deal either". Just cancel. No, I don't care about the "rewards points". Cancel iiiiiiit.
This should be illegal XP

Xfinity’s Wi‑Fi Motion: Turning Your Router Into a Living Room Spy

Comcast's Xfinity has launched Wi‑Fi Motion, a feature that transforms xFi Gateway routers into motion detectors using only signatures from Wi‑Fi signal interference. If enabled, the router senses movement, even minor gestures such as a raised arm. However, buried in the terms of service, Comcast reserves the right to collect, log, and sell this motion data to advertisers.

Looks like Xfinity is giving me Peacock again for free

I haven't used it since the last time it was free 🤔

When you think about it, seems like a no-brainer to give to existing cable customers so that they eventually transition to streaming. It also helps their streaming subscription numbers.

Comcast Xfinity notified me that they changed my unlimited Internet plan to $25 per 50 GB unless I upgrade my plan. I was already paying $138 per month for 1 Gb download and ~100 Mb upload.

I just switched to EarthLink, which is a wrapper around local AT&T fiber optics. I'm now paying $80 per month for a symmetric 1 Gb optical connection with an option to upgrade to symmetric 5 Gb for $200 per month.

I'm grateful I have options here in Santa Cruz, CA, USA.

My xfinity cable tv stopped working Thursday morning. After a few calls from xfinity to troubleshoot it, it was determined to not be a technical issue, but a box issue. They said to turn it in, get a new one, plug it in and it will work. Well guess what, it doesn't. They even cancelled my tech that was coming out tomorrow.

So now I have to go through the hassle of their customer service again to get a tech scheduled. Complete bullshit.

Do people recommend Roku?

I love it when Comcast's system just turns off my autopay for no reason. It happens at least once a year and they can never explain it. And then I get a "your payment is late" email like I just got, which is how I find out it switched itself off again.
