AI (basically): "The phrase 'freedom of speech, not freedom of reach' refers to the idea that while individuals have the right to express themselves, platforms can limit the visibility or distribution of certain content. This means that platforms like #xitter can freely choose to restrict the reach of any post, even if those posts don't violate the law."

Closed platform algos enact tyranny of reach.

The #SocialWeb promises #DemocracyOfReach. Only we the people decide together what goes viral.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reposted and praised an interview of a self-described #christianNationalism pastor saying women shouldn't be allowed to vote.

In the #CNN video, Wilson also defended previous comments saying there was mutual affection between slaves and their masters. He also said that sodomy should be recriminalized. The Supreme Court invalidated sodomy laws in 2003.

In his #xitter repost of the interview, #hegseth added, "All of Christ for All of Life."💩

I've made 10,000 posts on Mastodon since I joined just under two years ago.

Thanks and thoughts:

- I'm grateful to @admin for running this instance. I made a small contribution to the running costs, and you should do the same.

- Thank you to all who follow and interact with me.

- Thank you to the people I follow for providing so much thought provoking, entertaining, informative, and beautiful content.

- I wish more of the academics and journalists I followed on Xitter had migrated to Mastodon.

- There are times when I feel I am just talking to myself here.

- There are many topics on which I have opinions but which I do not discuss here, either because I am not sufficiently well informed to make a constructive contribution to a discussion, or because for some topics I do not think Mastodon is an appropriate forum for their discussion.

- Partly on account of its current rotten government and the appalling way in which it is currently waging war, Israel is an unpopular country on Mastodon, or at least in the parts of Mastodon that I see. Nevertheless and regardless of how many people here take offence, I will continue to defend the right of Israel to exist. A two state solution, Israel and Palestine recognized as two states living alongside each other, is not utopian and is the only way to ensure peace and dignity for all.

- I use hashtags and so should you!

- I boost a lot because I think it makes Mastodon more interesting. Am I right in this?
