1. He cannot help himself. He has spent a lifetime being an out and proud racist and he's not about to change anytime soon.

2. As a result of #1, he has no ability — zero — to show respect to anyone he considers "inferior." And he considers ALL people of color inferior to him.

3. He thinks this kind of disrespectful, abusive behavior to Black journalists wins him points with his (white, white, white) MAGA base. And he's right about that.
