Here's a story a mother told me.

The mother is someone with whom my husband and I have done business for a number of years. We've had lunch with her and her husband, a nice couple.

By her first husband, this mother had a daughter who was constantly perceived as male, though she was born biologically female and raised female.

The photo of Imane Khelif is from Algeria's Presse Service last year, and is uploaded to Wikipedia.

As a teen, she constantly encountered hate and threats. If she went to a woman's bathroom in a public place, people who saw her doing so sometimes barred the door and told her to go to the men's bathroom.

Eventually, she couldn't take the hate and bullying any longer and she left Arkansas, where all this was taking place. She entered an art program in another state, and found she could live with a lot more dignity and peace there.

She eventually decided to transition to male.

Needless to say, the mother's heart was broken by the hate she saw constantly visited on her daughter simply because of how the daughter looked and was perceived. And it was doubly broken when her daughter felt she had no choice except to leave home and live far from her mother.

And what I'd like anyone hearing this story to ask herself/himself/themself: Why?

/3

"Why the hate? Why does any person take it on him/her/themself to gender-police another person?

What difference does it make to you, really, that a woman acts or looks "mannish" or a man acts or looks fem? Is your world really so tiny, so narrow, so repressively controlled that you don't understand that the big world, the real world, is a large place full of a hell of a lot of diversity?

/4

Is your world so small that you don't really see that the world's a wider, richer place than the tiny place some of us want to shove everyone else into in order to make the tiny-headed people comfortable?

What makes you even notice whether people are acting and looking "right" in terms of gender, in the first place? Who taught you to react, stigmatize, hate, because to your tiny head, someone else is not acting or looking "right" in terms of gender roles?

/5

People don't naturally notice the color of someone's skin or their gender presentation until someone teaches them to start noticing and categorizing people in this way. Who taught you to do that, and when did someone teach you to do that? And why did someone teach you to do that?

And why do you let yourself be manipulated and twisted in this way?

Just asking — for many friends.

@wdlindsy Exactly my point: Some people are DEMENTED by THE CON, not living a lonesome sense, away from the HORDE; living life for the sake of just living it - why step over the line onto any other individual?

All i know is that there's a more PSYCHEDELIC Perception of reality-- where a embrace of nature living merely in a enamored state of earth and nature--to not judge--just, like, observing space in your study, study nature, a.s.o, read some, do some stuff, where you've let go of everything

@wdlindsy I agree with R Crumb - how he was; KNOCKED ON HIS ASS by a spiritual awakening, when he did psychedelic drugs

All superfluous CRAP, like; Fuck, he's a trans, let's CARE A LOT ABOUT THAT, all such stuff of THE NORMAL, TRIVIAL PEA-BRAIN MATTER, after a trip you really go awaken, to let your own NEARBY, SHORT PERCEPTION OVERWHELM YOU, like totally...so hard to explain what i mean - you become like a Buddhist monk, and you start looking towards American Indian way of life, DANCING, etc
