After all the good the Kennedy clan has given the world it is astonishing that the arrogant ass has eclipsed it with under 90 days of Def Con DOGE. Junior famously brought the kooky Kennedy to his father so he could get him a branch of government to destroy. He actually joked about it. Junior is a worm.
Thank you for sharing this article. The gutting of federal agencies, the mass firings of critical public servants doing important work, is horrific.
In terms of how this is conveyed, I only wish journalists would constantly remind people of this fact: This gutting of public infrastructure and services is for the SOLE PURPOSE of giving the VERY RICHEST-of-the-rich an even greater tax break. Period. They need to find trillions of dollars to pass the Billionaire's Tax Cut, and they're raiding public institutions to do so.
The GOP/MAGA narrative about "cutting spending" and "Efficiency(TM)" and "bloated government spending" and cracking down on "fraudulent entitlements" etc is a total ruse. We know that, but that message is not getting out to everyone.
I think it's crystal clear: They are funneling public funds into the bank accounts of billionaires. They're firing people researching cancer and monitoring infectious disease, canceling grants to local libraries, and defunding your local food bank, in order to make the top 0.01% even more grotesquely wealthy.
IMHO, this motivation (finding the trillions of $ for billionaire tax cuts) should be included in *any* article about these cuts to federal agencies. it's really important context.
