“I urge @SecRubio to distribute the $340M in American-grown food currently stalled in US ports to reach those in need.

Time is running out before this life-saving aid perishes.”
-Sen Moran 2/3/25

He cares about the farmers, foremost, but, thankfully, it appears that the aid is on its way. Although, I can’t find any posts or articles on the shipments, other than Moran’s post today.

The USDA says that grantees of the Food for Progress aid program can resume their operations for agreements made in 2024 or earlier. The program had been halted as part of the Trump admin's pause on INTL assistance, despite a waiver for life-saving aid.

Trump agreed to the aid for red state farmers who rely on it, not bc he cares about starving children. Prior contracts are resuming. As an AUTOCRAT, he'll likely reinstate the program later to claim credit.

"Orgs: locked out of fed payment systems -NO CASH!" Starving kids💔

USAID ldr is sitting on >1,000 tons of food in Mozambique that needs to be distributed. "It's utterly wasteful."

St Dept: promised "waivers" that'd allow some aid programs focused on lifesaving help to continue despite widespread stop-work orders issued by the Trump admin.

But they must wait for: St Dept/ to inform them that their specific programs have been approved under these waivers.
