@davetroy@toad.socialI warned the White House, the National Security Council, and several other agencies about all of this (Musk, crypto, Russia, Trump et al) in writing in 2021. It was too far outside the Overton window to be taken as a real threat. Now, here we are.
@davetroy frankly I thought back then you were directionally correct but that surely couldn't be SO fucked up for their own self survival. I was wrong, you were minding the Overton window to not sound too crazy...
@dadadan yeah and the issue there is projection. When people project their own worldview onto high agency actors whose worldview they can't comprehend... bad things happen. ;)
@davetroy I learned my lesson and now I am insisting everyone to readjust their imaginary of what's possible and read back your warnings.

Manipulations of perception turns out to be the most powerful weapons, more dangerous than atomic weapons, intended for continuous use against us.
It's a most miserable realization.
For me, it has been years of wondering if clear warnings about these threats were being delivered to and *understood* by the Obama and Biden administrations.

@davetroy - Thanks. I'm sure that not everyone in the previous administration was complicit but a good number of them must have been.
