The Lancet reports that every year at least 68,000 people die preventable deaths due to a lack of healthcare—1 every 7.7 min
Meaning, since the UnitedHealth CEO's death on 12/4, at least 4862 people have died preventable deaths due to the for profit health exploitation system
Outrageous & barbaric

It does not exactly say that that only 68k/year are preventable and due to lack of access to care.
It says that switching to a "Medicare for All" system would *reduce* such deaths by 68k. It is based on a serious model, not a hand-wave about M4A eliminating all access problem. It also was done pre-COVID, with a relevant update in 2022 looking back at the first ~2 years of the pandemic: https://ysph.yale.edu/news-article/yale-study-more-than-335000-lives-could-have-been-saved-during-pandemic-if-us-had-universal-health-care/
