Another #birb from yesterday.

My friend and I were sitting in the back garden of the coffeehouse near my home where there is a small water feature there that is a big hit with the neighborhood birds. This oriole had just taken a bath in the water and was drying off in the sun.

My friend hadn't learned to identify orioles by their sounds yet, so I was happy to point them out. Sitting back there was not quite as relaxing as our usual foray to the lake, but we only had about two hours to hang out. Also the coffee house doesn't seem to care if you sit there and you haven't ordered a drink from them. So it's almost a free third space, in a way. (My friend did order a drink.)

There was also a bird making anither sound -- I didn't pull out my Merlin ID app to identify it because it was making me laugh my head off -- that sounded to me like Spock walking in the TOS episode "Spock's Brain." It went "tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick" for a bit, and then started ticking even faster. I looked at my friend and giggled, "Spock, running!"

(I have been deeply immersed in the #StarTrek universe lately, so everything reminds me of Star Trek right now.)

I wish my phone had a better digital zoom, but here we are. 🙄
