@mike805 @ThatWouldBeTelling Sorry, I missed this thread somehow. That's really useful information you two mentioned. I really appreciate the insights you both mentioned. All my life I've been an urbanite, living mostly in cities not prone to natural disasters... I am afraid to say I know nothing much about living without electricity, being too reliant on mod cons. I will definitely read into ham radio, getting a shortwave radio for my emergency #bugout bag.

I consume a moderate amount of #prepping media. Websites/forums, books, a couple of apps and podcasts.
It's insane to me how much of it is focused on #shtf and #bugout scenarios. I would say that discussion of EMP's outnumbers #climatechange by 5:1.
Just American style tactical-bro mall ninja fantasies.
What are you doing to #prepare for accelerating climate change?
Retooting my #bugout bag list and pasting here for those who want to see what it looks like to live on an active volcano in a hurricane zone.
Pele/Kilauea has begun erupting again, in her home, Halemaumau Crater. Halemaumau is the safest place for an active eruption for all of us and as long as that's where she stays, no one needs a bugout bag for an eruption. I still like to share this every so often bc I don't think some of you think about needing to flee, when in fact, you never really know when you may become an evacuee or refugee of some sort. Stay vigilant and know that wise preparation is not just a means of survival, with preparation, you can thrive.
