The thesis: If you lean hard into Django, you can produce excellent results without spending double on engineering.
#Django is the perfect framework for the post-ZIRP world.
We need to have another #DjangoCon 2009. My T-shirt from the last one is really starting to show its age:
Edit: added photo. Thanks for the reminder, @adamchainz!
Is there a reason #DjangoCon doesn't have a posters track? Did it have one in the past that just fizzled out?
#PyConUS was the first time I've been to a conference with posters, and it was a lot of fun.
As someone who mostly tends to prefer static material over dynamic for learning (give me docs instead of videos, please), I really got a lot from the posters that were presented this year, as well as the creators who were answering questions.
It made me **really** want to make posters!
I wrote a blog post to collect my thoughts about DjangoCon in Dublin.
Thank you to everyone who put effort into creating such a wonderful conference @djangoconeurope
@djangoconeurope Europe was, as always, a fantastic experience. Thank you to everyone involved. I hope to see you all again next year, if not before.
As promised, I'm sharing an annotated version of my slides as a blog post: https://karenjex.blogspot.com/2025/05/anatomy-of-database-operation.html
Sumit isn't here, but they shared this on the #Django discord. Well done #DjangoCon! They had a great time.
We had a great time together tonight after the closing of DjangoCon Europe 2025 in Dublin.
It's always nice to have the opportunity to spend time together with old and new friends.
We had a great dinner and a fantastic party.
