Cainmark Does Not Comply 🚲

Whenever I see spaces like this, I hope their owners sometimes have the same thought I do and set up a large portable movie screen and project cartoons and 🎬 movies, like a drive-in movie 🎥 theater, but for people on 🚲 bicycles and walking. Selling buttered 🍿 popcorn and soda, of course.

Any zoning laws preventing it should be changed, IMHO.

I'm gonna out myself. Wife and I went to see Sinners at our local drive-in last night. Neither one of us liked it. We went in with high expectations and left sorely disappointed.

It felt like a long conceptual art piece with amazing scenery and cinematography, but didn't work well as entertainment. I'm a huge fan of Blues and Americana music and the music felt almost like the obligatory nude scene that every Hollywood movie arranged to have in the 90's.

Music was indeed good, but the movie wouldn't fall apart if you cut some of those scenes out which was especially annoying since I went to go see the movie on the promise of immersive depiction of early Blues music and culture.

My wife (who's a composer) looked up the composer of the score. It was Ludwig Göransson. She disliked his scoring of Oppenheimer and absolutely hated his work on Sinners. I have to agree with her. I don't know why his work is so revered. I found the sound world of both movies lacking too.

The “Splendour in the Mud” festival left tens of thousands of motorists bogged and stranded in torrential rain. Extreme heat from greenhouse gas emission is also eliminating the ‘drive-in’ model for outdoor mass gatherings.

Here's one from the archives; the marquee of the long gone Route 3 Drive In in East Rutherford NJ in 1978 or 1979. Absolutely loved hanging out there, despite the swarms of mosquitoes and questionable fumes rising from the #Meadowlands Jaws2 had recently taken over after an extended run of Star Wars. The old Giants Stadium can be seen in the hazy distance, beyond the bridge crossing over Berry's Creek.
