#Gericht ist Text!

Schriftsätze, Verträge, Gutachten, Entscheidungen… Das gilt bislang auch für unsere Beiträge. Hier und anderswo.

Dabei ist Gericht auch Sprechen. Miteinander! Manchmal aneinander vorbei.

Micro.blog looks interesting. Love the fedi integration. Cheap, too. And the 30 day photo challenge is genius.

I don’t have a need for it personally, but imagine TONS of folks do or will. I wish them success ❤️

Thanks @rpmik and @leo for piquing my interest.

I say this with love and respect.

If I wanted to see BlueSky posts, that’s where I’d be. Read the room. We’re all here for a reason. And if we REALLY wanted to know what folks were up to over there we’d follow a relay bot.

As a general rule, I do not share links to non-fedi SM posts. I’m not in the business of distribution of substances to patients in rehab. We’re all here for a reason.

FediFirst, or nothing at all. This is the hill
I choose to die on.

Maybe an occasional screenshot.

Pre Orders for 1001 Accurate Memories Now Open

From traumatic memory culture to learning with bodies

alexhead.com/bookstore

In 1001 Accurate Memories Berlin artist Alex Head presents patterns of self-repair amongst the ruins of ideas, relationships and human bodies. The author travels across space and time attempting to gain insights into class, disability and trauma through drawing, writing and photography. His investigation into traumatic memory tempts the author to suggest a shift from Germany’s professed ‘memory culture’ to a ‘traumatic memory culture’, in that traumatic memory is greatly more accurate.

Consequently, 1001 Accurate Memories seeks to locate the reader back within their own skin by highlighting our differentiated but ultimately shared anatomy.

Birthed from a seven year odyssey into blood, guts and tears, the work proposes that sensations in the body begin wider processes of understanding. By identifying the value of listening to the body in this way, the interpretative role of the human brain becomes more apparent. From this insight stems the ability to see trauma, memory and political propaganda as forms of easily manipulated emotional information. This leads Head to conclude that the primary way to counter such manipulation is the spiritual, physical and mental self-determination of the human body.

There are no special giveaways for pre ordering. The goal is to increase the print run from 100 to 150/200 copies. Each sale creates proportionally more and more copies!

Some months ago I suggested that the BS site was paying folks to be there. And the reply-guys laughed at me.

Since then, a fan-favorite corp, important to an affinity group I follow has deleted a bunch of toots and loudly advocated folks to set up shop there. And overwhelmingly, that's where the community quickly went.

If I was trying to get an SM company off of the ground, my first targets would keystone accounts, beloved by a tight-knit community.

This isn't new. Social media cos have long paid key accounts and/or media to create content on their platform, well before rollout of formal compensation plans.

Mastodon posts format beautifully in iMessage. And because it’s not a profit-driven, walled garden of crap, folks can see them without even having an account.

Psssst, send friends and family lots of toots they’d be interested in. It’s a great way to plant the seed.

I just deleted #Instagram off of my phone. I had a daily 15 min cap, and rarely met it.

I used it for conservation/naturalist stuff, silly web comics and some stand up comedy. If you have fedi recommendations to plug those holes I’d appreciate it.

Also curious about your #pixelfed and loops experiences.

Love you, #fedi folks.

The more I focus on Mastodon and the broader #Fedi, the more disgusting corporate SM is to me when I pop in. I’ve had a 15 min cap on Instagram for a long time but never hit it. I open the app, check my messages there’s always at least one spam. Report it then the ads come. It’s just yucky. Also LOL at this. GTFO, Zucky! #FediFirst #instagram

Here’s my problem with #Mastodon and the broader #Fedi. I follow amazing folks who fill my feed with countless awesome stuff.

I can’t keep up, and also have to show a ton of restraint to prevent flooding my own timeline with gobs of boosts.

Anyway, good problems to have, and I wish this abundance of awesome for you folks, too.

I try very hard to not interact with screenshots of posts from other SM platforms here on the fedi, and urge you to do the same. If we stop interacting/boosting/whatever, maybe folks will cut it out. It's not worth an @. Just a silent protest.

Hey, #MastoAdmin #Mastodon and #FediFirst friends. I'd really like to see this suggestion by @mastohost get implemented.

Seems like a reasonable solution to a still big problem. And it would help both little, and big instances a lot with resource usage.

Please help in whatever way you can, even if it's just a boost. THANK YOU!

EDIT: Adding the link. D'oh! 🤦‍♂️

Unfollowed a guy I respected because of his tech opinions and love for the fedi. Why? Because bluesky offered him a board position and he did an abrupt about face.

I hope it’s a paid position. Anyway, see ya when their standard is truly open and adopted by more than just them (never) #FediFirst #fediverse
