In the times before "AI" hype there were washing machines with "fuzzy logic" and "neuro" whatever.

Found reddit comment:
"Fuzzy logic was an overhyped 90s phenomenon that was largely based on the belief that one could design a control system without an understanding of control theory and somehow it would magically turn out better. That reality never materialized."

Is anyone working on incorporating #FuzzyLogic into #LLMs? There was a brief period in the early 90s where “#Neurofuzzy” aimed for relevance, but nets were still shallow and fuzzy logic fizzled (AI Winter? Used but no longer called AI? Not competitive with existing control system formalities?). My #ShowerThought is that FL *feels* like it’s differentiable (continuous truth/belief values). If true, might be suited for integration with statistical machine learning. #ML

Just found this great little demo by Sean Hagstrom using simple #FuzzyLogic to control the behavior of an #AI bot (NPC) and using thi.ng/fuzzy to implement the logic ops and thi.ng/fuzzy-viz to create the diagrams/visualizations of the linguistic variables:

(Btw. These techniques are also super useful for creating & controlling complex behaviors/configurations for #GenerativeArt purposes & sadly completely underexplored terrain by the wider community...)

OK - somebody is lying, or somebody is talking through their hat. Because these headlines cannot all be true.
Unless we are cancelling #Aristotle and bringing in a #BraveNewWorld where #FuzzyLogic just got fuzzier

ALSO:

Yes, the #lastpass hack should concern you even if you are not using LastPass and even if you're not especially into #cybersecuritynews

Because the #hackers most certainly ARE into #infosec

No, this does not mean it is advised to not us #password managers

Image description says this:
Conflicting headlines: LP says no sensitive info leaked but others indicate personal data leaked which includes obviously "sensitive" info and we also believe that supposedly "secure notes" may also be available in plaintext so fuck all this

@leonardo oh, great!

I do a *lot* of polls. I love the thought process they call up in me, and I love the way conversations flow out of them. And I love finding out if my opinion is mainstream or if I'm an outlier.

As a #FuzzyLogic fan and implementer, I try to represent shades of truth as best I can in the limited number of options.

If you don't like polls, that's OK! You can follow other people and have a different conversation somewhere else. My stream isn't the only game in town.
