still haven't been able to ask my weather scientist friend so let me put this out to the fediverse:

i don't ever remember seeing a #hurricane take the path #Helene took. i consider it an incredibly abnormal path. to me, it moved more like a tornado.

has anybody come across any commentary, articles or even pre-review papers addressing that?

#Milton #Kirk #Irene are the common hurricane paths i’ve seen of my decades of paying attention to hurricanes. #Helene’s path was just whack.
