The Trump administration has quietly cancelled the proposal to protect the Upper Pecos Watershed from mining, despite a groundswell of local support.
Thank you to Sen. Heinrich and Sen. Luján and Reps. Leger Fernández and Stansbury for championing the Pecos Watershed Protection Act, which would permanently protect the watershed and designate approximately 11,599 acres as the Thompson Peak Wilderness Area.
