I switched to #Positron https://github.com/posit-dev/positron by @Posit for most of my #rstats and #rpackage development activity. I have not touched #RStudio for many weeks. https://codeium.com/ as AI autocomplete for now, as GitHub Copilot is not working yet in #Positron. Occasional fallback to #VScode for #RemoteSSH work.

The R wrapper for the Python Pdf2docx package offers a very simple API for easily converting your PDF files into DOCX.

New paper on "Modelling animal network data in R using STRAND"

Last week, CRAN released the version 1.0.1 of "collinear", the R package I wrote during my summer holidays.

It helps filter out numeric and categorical collinear predictors, and let's you decide in what order of preference these predictors should be removed.

Recently ran into a disturbing #ChatGPT result: I asked it to translate a #python function written by Mathieu Daëron (https://github.com/mdaeron/D47crunch) to #R, using the #tidyverse and a #tibble. I had done this manually for my #rpackage https://github.com/isoverse/clumpedr/ and wanted to see how they would compare.

It returned my code literally, including TODO notes, comments, and #roxygen skeleton. But it did not say where it got the code from, even when pressed. My R package is on #github under #GPL 3. Thoughts?

I must admit that I find it more and more exciting every week to see how many scientists are joining Mastodon !

So far, I remained pretty silent about what I am actually doing in the lab, which is #bioinformatics, #RStats #Rpackage #dev and #cancer #epigenomics .
