Tra i film di #SamPeckinpah che ho visto è sicuramente il meno riuscito, a tratti confuso e al limite della caricatura.
Nonostante questo rimane un film da guardare.

"Killer elite" di Sam Peckinpah, 122minuti, 1975.

The Killer Elite (1975), directed by Sam Peckinpah, pairs Robert Duvall with James Caan as mercenaries whose friendship turns sour - with lethal consequences. There’s a lot of violence - and quite a few ninjas.

On August 30, 1973, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid debuted in the United Kingdom. Here’s some Bob Dylan art!

Sam Peckinpah's Major Dundee (1965), an interesting and strangely impressive failure which had the potential for greatness. A visually brilliant grungy western. Peckinpah's ambitions ran away with him. Superb performance by Charlton Heston.

Happy Anniversary to “Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid” which was released in cinemas 50 years ago on this day.
Timeless Sam Peckinpah Western with music by Bob Dylan about Pat Garrett being hired as a lawman to bring down his old friend Billy the Kid.
Stuntwork in the late 60s and 70s was insane. These are real horses falling down an 'exploding' bridge into a river.

Unchanged men in a changing land. Out of step, out of place and desperately out of time.
The Wild Bunch (1969) is a tour de force by Sam Peckinpah with some incredible set pieces. My favourite scenes included the bridge destruction, the out-of-control machine-gun, and the bloody climax. The influence on Tarantino is clear to see.

Cross of Iron directed by Sam Peckinpah - in the midst of a cocaine and booze binge - holds up as a remarkable anti-war movie, with fantastic performances by James Coburn and James Mason #sampeckinpah #movies #films #filmreview #jamesmason #war #WW2 #sampeckinpah www.speckled.band
