In #DwarfFortress we finally have our magma forge industry operational but we have a lot of other tasks that need finishing. Our old hospital isn't going to be big enough to handle our burgeoning population so I'm creating a new on with up to 56 hospital beds. We also need more bedrooms. Then, we'll be ready to set up sand and clay collection and also smelt all the ores!

I shouldn't have complained about artifact buckets. I had to start a new fort (The old one had a corpse in the well, and I didn't have any way to drain it)
The first three artifacts are all earrings.
I have some levers set up to drain the well, though
the whole 4 part series is really good.

I believe the summary of the loyalty cascade in the iceberg is wrong. the classic loyalty cascade bug would make two entities that all of your dwarves belong to, e.g. the fortress and the civilisation, enemy to one another. the result of this is that every single dwarf is suddenly a mortal enemy of every other dwarf, because you ordered the military to kill a cursed lycanthrope. I've lost my most promising glacial fortresses to this and the bloodbath was exceedingly entertaining to see.
in true Tarn fashion the current version intentionally didn't fix the bug but rather nerfed it into a manageable civil war between factions, so you may still be able to recover your fortress if you can keep the opposite dwarves away from one another until the hostilities cease.
ok what do I go with? glacier fort for the challenge? haven't tried a glacier fort in forever. but a lot of the challenge is just elements being removed so the game is poorer in a sense. with the new plant growth graphics, I kinda want to go to a highly forested area. I've been meaning to try an evil biome and harvest sliver barbs to make like, a goth industry vegan fortress, because the procedural icons with black dye and quality indicators are some top quality drip. But every time I try an evil embark I get dead plants rather than evil plants, and as far as I know, there's no way to know at embark generation site where you can farm slivers….
