Denn unser Fedi-Hühnchen ist nichts anderes als Spam von verschiedenen, schlecht gesicherten Instanzen aus. Er oder sie erschafft ständig neue Accounts.

I was very bummed because Fedi #spam seldom reaches our tiny instance in a corner of the #Fediverse, BUT the #FediverseChick just messaged me!

(or, more precisely, the prick, probably a dude, who has nothing better to do than to flood the fediverse with this spambot)

I lost track about how many times I had to suspend the exactly same spam account from different instances. They don't even bother to change the bio or anything...

Anyone in the room with an idea how to solve this? I mean, we are now around 20k instances and each time we block another account of these, it costs us work (not much, but some).

A big thank you for all the people that reported versions of this account, and an even bigger thank you for the instance admins/mods that suspended it down from their instances (because this helps everybody else).

This latest wave of spam here on Mastodon has been pretty bad over the last 2 - 3 days.

I think I've personally reported close to 50 accounts so far and I'm still getting them as we speak.

That's some interesting Fedispam: come for the piano concert, stay for the women's and men's clothing at SHEIN.

Lots of spammers today using account names of of the form “elonmuskXX” where XX is a 2 digit number. Mainly on mastodon.social, but I’ve seen some on other instances. They’re tagging people in messages and DMs.

Report them as you find them.

I'm not happy that tooters.org is (apparently) gone, but I *am* quite happy that there isn't anyone spamming the #tooters hashtag with one instance's updates anymore.

#tooters belongs to all of us, because we're *all* #tooters.

The following instances that were previously spamming have upgraded to Mastodon 4.2.8 (which stops open sign ups when the instance is not maintained). They are probably safe to unblock if you have them blocked

I see a lot of spam coming from a Neurosciences Mastodon server. Use your brain, folks! Block these accounts!
