#Separatists worldwide, please note:
It is ok to harbor #secession dreams if you can get the #UN to support your cause.
The UN envoy to Western #Sahara suggested dividing the territory between #Morocco and #Polisario Front as a way to settle the decades-long conflict and give residents a chance to decide under who they want to live.
But just because UN says so doesn't mean all parties accept it. Remember the UN #TwoStates Solution for #Israel and #Palestine from 1947?

Thanks for posting this quote & link to the Freedland article.
Jonathan Freedland is a voice worth listening to, on all subjects. Perceptive, fearless, empathetic. One of the people who can make you change your mind, by virtue of their own ability to question their own position.
This Freedland piece on Israel and Palestine is no exception. It makes us think.
"We’re debating […] dead moral questions, and for the same reason we always do: because that debate allows us to ignore the ones that might lead us to a different place than the celebration of our own liberal righteousness."
