Caruso narrowly lost the mayoral election to Karen Bass. This is how he would've responded to a disaster. He hired private firefighters to protect his Pacific Palisades shopping center, then complained about lack of water from the hydrants. Firefighters were using it to save lives & prop. Were he have been elected mayor, he would have tried to cut taxes, increase—even more—spending on police and, thus, sure as hell would not have any money for a massive capital improvement to have the water systems in all neighborhoods have the capacity to handle 4X demand.
Let alone time to do that upgrade.
@KimPerales @bruce When my parents put in a swimming pool in 1971, they chose to have a pump that could allow the pool to power a hose in case of a fire because everyone knows that water pressure drops when a brush fire is being fought.
