@KimPerales I'm sorry, but I don't see how a 24-hour blackout will do much. everyone will just buy stuff before and after without any change in the overall level or pattern of consumption. that's like striking for an hour after lunch and going back to work.

@fourTACOS @KimPerales a one-day drop in sales will be noticed. Midway thru this doc, they say ‘if that doesn’t yield change, future boycotts will be longer.’

To be fair, I really don’t care your opinion. Don’t like it? Organize something you think would work.

@cascheranno @KimPerales I guess it doesn't mean anything to me because I'm not a daily consumer. I don't frivolously spend much, I don't get restless when I haven't gone to a Starbucks or a food cart within a week; I mostly just pay bills and budget hard. lol I wash out Ziploc ™ bags and reuse them.

@fourTACOS @KimPerales

I suspect this is true also - but the results _do_ show up in the TPS reports that pointy haired boss reviews, and the businesses ask 'what happened '? and then they ask 'what if it gets worse or happens again'?

The ideal outcome of this economic protest is for people to _switch_ their buying habits from those stores to a store like Costco which successfully defended their "DEI" programs.

@ike @KimPerales Costco is a great store! I love the Kirkland store brand, too (those find their way in food pantries pretty regularly). I just don't have a family and a van, and an extra freezer in a garage…lol or own a convenience store or a restaurant.

@KimPerales really? black out? seriously?

poor look.

Al Sharpton's DEI Boycott Plan

24 Hour Blackout on Friday February 28, 2025
From 12 AM to 11:59 PM.

This is the first step to counter the attack on DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)

Do not make any purchases.
Do not shop online, or in store.
No Amazon.
No Walmart.
No Best Buy.
No McDonalds and other fast food stores.
No gas.
No major retailers.
Do not use credit or debit cards for non-essential spending.
Try to buy all you need before Friday, February 28, but, if necessary:

Only buy essentials of absolutely necessary items such as food, medicine, emergency supplies.

If you must spend, only support small, local businesses.

Why this matters!

Corporations and banks only care about their bottom line.

Disrupting the economy for even one day sends a powerful message.

If they don't listen we make the next blackout longer.

Our numbers are powerful. This is how we make history!

Spread the message!

Please share with all of your contacts. Talk about it, post about it, document your actions that day! We must use the power we do have and send an economic message with our numbers as did Dr. King!

February 28th.

The 24 hour economic black out begins.
