"Why did they hammer him? Because they don’t want Americans to view Zelensky as a hero. That view will complicate Trump’s plan to surrender Ukraine to Putin. Trump is ready to give Putin everything he wants. And then carve up the world."

"What 77 million Americans did last November was heinous. Without regard for the warnings repeatedly given by Democrats and the Trump gang’s own words in Project 2025, they stupidly voted for a demented convicted criminal with no regard for human dignity and now, clearly, for human life. We are all suffering for their mindless decisions, and now so is the rest of the world."

"Here's what the idiots in the White House utterly fail to comprehend. They and the US came out of that argument weaker. Zelensky came out stronger, with Europe rallying behind Ukraine more than before. They came out looking like petulant idiots; he came out looking like a leader with integrity."

@wdlindsy When he met Putin in Helsinki during his first term, it was painfully obvious how Putin had him by the balls.
@wdlindsy ugh, I hate all this agreeing with David Frum (and John Bolton (!)) I'm doing lately.
@wdlindsy This. Taking their masks off in front of the public was really the best possible move for Ukraine in a bad situation. There was no chance of getting favorable negotiated terms, but embarrassing & politically weakening the treasonous pieces of shit blackmailing them puts them in a better position with American public opinion, Congress, and most importantly rest of world.
@wdlindsy
...and it forces all countries aka (former) allies, tradepartners and at the UN "involved" to finally define/realise their own position regarding the current USA.
@wdlindsy and for this T rumple will make him and his country pay.
But none of the news media are mentioning this.
@wdlindsy blue team cheerleader dworkin grifting out of his ass again, I see
Overprivileged ppl that think they can be fascist as long as they are friendly
@wdlindsy “Zelensky’s attire—the Ukrainian president wears military attire, not a suit, to remind the world that his country is at war—has been a fixation on the right, and conservatives have seized upon it as a pretext to blame him for Trump’s anger. Oddly, they did not seem to mind that Elon Musk showed up at the White House this week in a T-shirt and baseball cap.” #FuckTrump #MAGA #hypocrisy #fascist #ukraine #StandWithUkraine #USpol
@wdlindsy Just a reminder. tRUmp can be impeached a 100 times and NOTHING will happen.
REMOVAL from office is what needs to happen.
@wdlindsy
That is quite some headline from Esquire!
@wdlindsy
Donald took his Miss America pageant to Moscow in 2013 and - as reported in our amnesiac media - Asked Putin to be his best friend. Putin rewarded him with prostitutes.
And invaded Ukraine in 2014. In 2015, the tangelo began his 2nd run for president.
Russia, if you're listening, trump will be the end of Putin.
@wdlindsy how far does he have to go before it’s considered treason?
@peterbrown @wdlindsy At the time of the revolution it was treason to insult the king. So the founders wrote a very restrictive definition of treason into the US constitution (the only crime that is defined there). If Russia is not officially an enemy it seems no amount of surrender to them would qualify as treason. In principle he could be accused of many other crimes, but his pet supreme court declared very broad immunity for presidents. So unless he is impeached and removed from office (which would end his immunity) it seems he is in the clear.
@not2b @wdlindsy interesting. Many thanks for your response.
It seems the House of Hannover were utterly paranoid because after the struggles of 1745/6 it was considered disloyal to even mention Scotland . Companies and institutions from the period called themselves North British. So perhaps using the term Scotland would have been considered treason here?
This continued even after George IV visited Edinburgh at Walter Scott’s invitation in 1822.
@not2b @peterbrown @wdlindsy
All true, Joe. But espionage resulting in death is a capitol offense. This started happening mere weeks after trump’s illegal theft of thousands of classified documents, after he was out of office hence not covered by the BS immunity ruling.
Trump could, and should, be tried for espionage and executed. The Rosenbergs were killed for far less.
@wdlindsy Everything trump has ever done has weakened America - from not paying his taxes to defrauding his lenders to failing to pay his loans, his workers, his contracts, plus the rapes.
It's almost like he's our enemy. No, it's exactly like he's our enemy.
#TrumpIsTheEnemy
@wdlindsy There was a book written a long time ago called the rise and fall of the American empire. At the time it was good fictional reading, but now it looks like a prediction.
@wdlindsy on this I can agree with David Frum yet he too fails to recognize that it was Zelenskyy who also refused to bow to Trump during the last election and this was the start of his impeachment- so this is trump’s vengeance.
@wdlindsy
I can't say self sabotage. I would say Putin ran a long game with Krasnov and won. History is written by the winners so the truth of how many politicians and news outlets Putin owns may never be known.
Traders are messing around with the markets. Up down up down up down.
My husband and i both lost $4000 each off our pensions in an afternoon last week. So yeah we are pissed at America voting in madman and his sidekick, messing around with the world.
@wdlindsy The rest of the world not so much. The Rest Of The World is mahoosive and has plenty of room to manoever and set up new deals, new alliances, just generally do things as they wish.
People in the US are pretty much stuck with Musk ripping this and that apart while Mr News Cycle diverts attention.
