There's a huge lineup of people with bikes by Tsawwassen Terminal waiting for 620, but Translink's Bike Bus starts running only on June 22.
Even getting a spot on 601 is a challenge

It was mostly just me and the trees on today’s #StanleyPark Drive cycle.

Did you ever think "I'd bike to <some business> but there's no bike rack there?"
Did you know you can use 311 to request a street bike rack? The city wants to hear from you! We've had lots of recent and quick successes.
Hat tip to the hard work of our "Secure Bike Parking Working Group". #bikeyvr
The Burnaby local committee of HUB cycling will host a casual social bike ride on Saturday July 5, 2025 at 9:30 am. Everyone is welcome and participation is free of charge, but every participant must register via the link in the announcement.

Marked safe from False Creek Geese again this morning.
But it was close.

City of Vancouver likes taking a balanced approach, e.g. making a bike lane worse to save 1 (one) parking spot.
It's June, which means that #PedalPoll is back!
I wonder, how many cyclists can I count on the seawall in two hours?
Volunteer at HUB pop-up bike security events this July and August!
You’ll demonstrate secure bike locking, help register bikes on 529 Garage, hand out bike lock discount coupons, offer bike lock raffle entries and demonstrate requesting a Vancouver street bike rack.
In partnership with VPD Community Policing, 529 Garage and sponsors West Point Cycles and ABUS.

Thanks for this notice. I would not have known to celebrate
We are getting 40 bike racks put in to our housing co-op tomorrow and I will let people know we’ve got UN approval

Reminder: SW Marine Dr assessment ride tomorrow! Meet at Burrard Slopes Park at 1pm or Riverview Park at 1:30pm. Check groups.io for details. #BikeYVR
Finally got around to finishing the first of two pannier racks so I can hang up panniers on their bike rack hooks instead of them being on the floor or hanging by the hand loop. #cycling #bikeyvr #woodworking #brass #bikes
A few YVR bike scenes. Vancouver is lovely. Only did a little bit of riding but it was a good time.

That block (on Alexander?) was moved by somebody to make it wide enough to fit cars

The driver did not leave a meter’s worth of space and thus committed assault with a deadly weapon from behind, regardless of whether the cyclist was supposed to weave in and out of traffic like the police are recklessly saying

Meanwhile, remember, road safety is a shared responsibility!
(Yes, I went through the wrong side: I wanted to make sure I recorded the fact that it was a bikes-only entrance, and vehicles are prohibited.)

Following up on this crash - which was blamed on the victim - HUB Cycling is calling for more motorist and police education on the responsibilities of motorists with respect to vulnerable road users: bikehub.ca/about-us/new... #bikeyvr
HUB Cycling Calls for More Dri...
In light of the Global News story on a person on a bike who was injured by a driver who unsafely passed on a "local street bikeway" and blamed by VPD (https://globalnews.ca/video/11187150/cyclist-says-b-c-s-new-cycling-law-failed-him/), @wearehub.bsky.social calls for more driver and police education. #bikeyvr
Number of vehicles in the dedicated bike lanes I was in on my 13 km ride home today: 3.
Remember kids, road safety is a shared responsibility.
Anthony, how can you sum up the challenges of advocating for safer cycling opportunities in Vancouver? From a just-released engagement report for a potential street configuration change in Vancouver: "I don't mind having a bike lane but not at the expense of parking..." #bikeyvr
@anthonyfloyd.ca
If the vehicular cycling idea of sharing space with cars in bike routes has been abandoned
Municipalities have to be prepared for cyclist to demand separated bicycle and car facilities everywhere, rather than bicycles sharing with cars
If they thought bicyclist were up in arms demanding bike lanes before
I imagine calls for that SUV driver to support the whole street of parking being removed for separate car and cycling lanes
