The two main themes of the budget seem to have been 1. businesses should pay more towards societal costs, and 2. more investment in infrastructure. Hard to argue with that. #Budget2024
Reeves could have shown she has the guts to do the right thing. Instead, she folded under pressure.
That sends a signal to other lobbyists: just apply a similar amount of pressure to this Labour government and you, too, will get what you want.
