Dr. Phil<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://rollenspiel.social/@HeyeBodo" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>HeyeBodo</span></a></span> ich bin durch Arbeit und Erkältung ein bisschen ausgebremst. Mal schauen, ob ich heute Abend meine <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/DeathInSpace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeathInSpace</span></a> Runde leiten kann. Dann steht einiges an Brettspielen auf dem Programm - vor allem habe ich aber gerade Spaß mit <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/AlienZoologie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AlienZoologie</span></a> , ein sehr charmantes Indie-Tabletop. Dafür habe ich mir gerade diesen Langhals gebastelt.</p>
Dr. Phil<p>Mooorgen! ☕️🎧 Gestern schon mal entspannt mit einer Runde <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/ShadowDark" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ShadowDark</span></a> gestartet, morgen <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/DeathInSpace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeathInSpace</span></a> , am Freitag <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/BestLeftBuried" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BestLeftBuried</span></a> - und dann am Samstag <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/Gratisrollenspieltag" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gratisrollenspieltag</span></a> 🙃 Ok - am Ende der Woche werde ich nicht unterspielt sein… aber jetzt mal was arbeiten und so.</p>

Jim Jones<p>I started reading through the Death in Space RPG last night and I really like it. With a few short paragraphs and some well chosen gear and mechanics, it does a good of setting the tone for what it is going for.</p><p>One thing that I like from the Mothership rpg is the d100 table of patches you can give characters.</p><p>Inspired, I have started my own d100 table for patches for Death in Space. It's a lot of fun.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DeathInSpace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeathInSpace</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Mothership" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mothership</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpg</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/rpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rpg</span></a></p>
Jim Jones<p>My used copy of the Death in Space role playing game came in the mail today. It has a few small dings, but otherwise it looks great.</p><p>I have only been able to give it a cursory read so far, but I like what I see. I can see the influences of Knave which I appreciate as that is the system I am using for my lightweight "DnD" games right now.</p><p>I'm looking forward to getting it to the table. I've these lightweight systems to be perfect for introducing RPGs to new people.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DeathInSpace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeathInSpace</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Knave" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Knave</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpg</span></a></p>

Dr. Phil<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://rollenspiel.social/@HeyeBodo" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>HeyeBodo</span></a></span> Yip, wobei ich damit nur wirklich ein Problem bekomme, wenn die Spieler:innen zu sehr eine Wirtschaftssimulation erwarten. Mir sind deswegen abstrakte Gold-Systeme wie bei <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/SavageWorlds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SavageWorlds</span></a> oder <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/BestLeftBuried" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BestLeftBuried</span></a> lieber.

Mein eigenes Mega-Dungeon ist für <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/FrontierScum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FrontierScum</span></a> gedacht. Ach ja, ich habe da auch noch dieses Old School-Insel-Dings für <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/ShadowDark" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ShadowDark</span></a>, wobei da das System eine relativ nachgeordnete Rolle spielt. Dr. Phil<p>Guten Morgen! Die erste Session <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/DeathInSpace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeathInSpace</span></a> wäre dann geschafft. 1/2</p>
Dr. Phil<p>A busy GM week: On Monday, we had a good session zero for our <a href="https://rollenspiel.social/tags/DeathInSpace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeathInSpace</span></a> campaign. The session was a great reminder of the excellent weirdness of the system and the quirks and particularities embodied in the rules. I am really looking forward to see the characters in the wild, that is: on the iron ring. 1/2</p>

One thing about random tables that I think gets overlooked sometimes is that they can sometimes provide inspiration by giving you a crap result.

I was using the tables in #StarsWithoutNumber for #DeathInSpace prep, and they gave me results that absolutely did not fit what I was doing, but they also forced me to come up with something that did fit.

SWN’s table are great, btw. I highly recommend it if you don’t already have a copy.
