🔴 L'ESA a effectué dernièrement un test de déploiement du 2e étage de parachute pour la mission #Exomars. Une maquette de la plateforme d'atterrissage d'ExoMars a été larguée à 30 km d'altitude et le parachute de 35 m de diamètre s'est déployé.
Sur Mars, il a pour objectif de décélérer la sonde à des vitesses supersoniques le module de descente de 21 000 km/h en 6 minutes

[#ExoMars : report and update] The postponement of the ExoMars mission has given IRAP scientists the opportunity to update some of the components of the #Raman laser #spectrometer.

The spectrometer will analyse #samples taken from beneath the surface of #Mars that have been ground and powdered beforehand. It will be able to identify the #organic compounds present and will contribute to the search for #microbial life.

[#TechnicalControl for the #ExoMars rover!] Delayed several times, the ESA's ExoMars mission is set to launch in 2028. Four years during which all the #instruments will be checked ... or even replaced!

For example, various components of the Raman Laser Spectrometer (RLS) have just been replaced. The upgrade ensures that the laser remains focused and facilitates photon collection for the spectral - and therefore mineralogical - analysis of #Mars' surface.
