Akin to a circumstance I've previously mentioned ... one of my great grandparents set were brewers and publicans who farmed out their children amongst siblings families. A nightmare to know whose child was whose looking on the census when things were a little sloppy.
The GRO index helped by pinpointing the mother's maiden names :)

@MarianBWood @genchat@lor.sh @genchat@a.gup.pe Still working on bits and pieces. DNA supports my conclusion about the name change. I've been collecting vitals for everyone. And in terms of collateral, one sister has been a dead end. Finding the obituary for each child that lists their surviving siblings has been a critical part of the research. Now that can be done more easily when there is a good online obit.
