Recently finished the edited collection “The Civil War and the Summer of 2020”. Various essays connecting #police #violence, tearing down inaccurate historical #monuments, & the #GeorgeFloyd #uprising, all through the lens of the US #CivilWar. A good combination of #history and current events—a nice niche for people who want to deepen their appreciation of what exploded in 2020. Tends to emphasize liberal characterizations of that uprising (nonviolence, etc.), but balanced otherwise.
