I was thoroughly enjoying watching this tiny Ruby Throated Hummingbird as it zipped from one Buddleia blossom to another, getting its fill of the sweet nectar. Click link to view #FreeShipping North America

Hushed Beauty
This is most likely a female ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris), though there’s a slight chance it could be a black-chinned hummingbird (Archilochus alexandri). Given that ruby-throated hummingbirds dominate this region, that seems the most reasonable identification. Still, I’d love for it to be a black-chinned, as they’re quite rare around here. The absence of vibrant emerald feathers is likely due to the lighting, which has softened the usual iridescence of its plumage.

Feeding on the Wing
I’m off to a slow start today and haven’t made much progress. I had hoped to have this done by 9:00 AM, but here we are.
For those who follow my posts—Ben started Laverdia today. I also decided to take him off Tramadol, as I suspected it was suppressing his appetite and leaving him in a dazed state. Already, he seems more like his old self. We'll see how things go from here.
The ruby-throated hummingbirds (Archilochus colubris) seem to favor this old rustic feeder above all the others—though, perhaps it’s simply because the newer one is still empty.

Hummingbird at Feeder
This is an image of a male ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) that I photographed yesterday as it visited one of my feeders.

Crimson Crown
This is a male ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris). I believe I captured this photo earlier this morning—though I could check the image properties to confirm, laziness prevails. The vibrant red feathers on its throat always remind me of plate armor, perhaps resembling a gorget.

Peaceful Moment
Sometimes, the light hits just perfectly. This is a female ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris), and she seems to be pausing briefly to bask in the sun. Of course, it’s probably less of a pause and more of a fleeting moment—these tiny creatures rarely stay still for long. While I often capture photos around my hummingbird feeders, I especially treasure opportunities like this, when I can photograph them in more natural settings. This particular shot was taken just a few days ago. In addition to nectar, these birds also feed on small insects.
You know, the photographs I post here are not as vivid as the same ones in my Pixel's gallery. This is because I reduce the size and slightly decrease the quality of the photos to make them easier to load. Take a look:
