I like Shogun2 much better than #Shogun1 because Shogun2 focuses on the Japanese (and their political, personal, historical, cultural perspectives) contrary to Shogun1 which focused mainly on what #RichardChamberlain did & thought, which made sense then but makes it come off as unsatisfyingly EuroCentric now.

The actor who plays Lord Tornaga in Shogun2 is #HiroyukiSanada, who played supporting roles in #JohnWick4 (2023), #BulletTrain (2022), #AvengersEndGame (2019) & #TheCatcherWasASpy (2018) Before that he played the leader of the ronin band in #47Ronin (2015).

While Sanada is convincing as Lord Toranaga in Shogun2, no one IMO could play the role better than #ToshiroMifune did in Shogun1.

I didn't like the defeatist attitude that Toranga takes on in the last episode of Shogun2 but that apparently was a ploy to put his enemies off guard, since the next episode is called #CrimsonSky which, if you've been watching the show, you should know what that implies.
