Watching Brief Encounter (1945) for the first time. Written and produced by Noel Coward and directed by David Lean, it's a black and white study in suburban infidelity and suppressed longing.
There's a great line from Celia Johnson's character which struck me, perhaps more than any other in the movie:
"It's awfully easy to lie when you know that you're trusted implicitly. So very easy and so very degrading."

Very good #film from #Oscar nominated #director #DavidLean (an additional nod for #BestScreenplay). #Oscarnominated #CeliaJohnson (#BestActress) is wonderful, as is the entire cast. #TrevorHoward plays opposite.
