Declaring the agency had “criminalized law-abiding gun ownership through regulatory fiat,” the White House said it would end “excessive restrictions on homemade firearms,” presumably a reference to #GhostGuns [restrictions to which #SCOTUS upheld].

@LevZadov The difference is that in the U.S., it's the gun owners themselves rather than a foreign invader who are massacring innocent civilians by the tens of thousands., so any implied analogy doesn't hold up.
After France fell, British SOE and other Allied groups dropped over 2,500 tons of armaments for the various French Resistance groups, including more than 100K small arms. It's unlikely a few rusty old shotguns hidden in farmhouses had much effect.

The authorities said the gunman used a handgun that was the former service weapon of his mother, a #LeonCounty sheriff’s deputy, who was allowed to keep the #gun for personal use. It’s not unusual for deputies to be allowed to purchase their former service weapons, officials said.

Sheriff Walter McNeil of #LeonCounty identified the gunman as #PhoenixIkner, 20, & said he is the son of a Leon County sheriff’s deputy.
“Unfortunately, he had access to one of her weapons,” the sheriff said.
Chief Revell said the gunman “invoked his right not to speak to us.”
“He did not comply with commands & was shot,” Chief Revell said.
