Having played a lot of some games where skill and RNG are equally balanced, its really rough when there's not a pity mechanic.
A pity mechanic is normally a counter that tracks how long a player does a thing and after a threshold it will 100% guarantee they hit one of every result on the rng table.
Fighting 100 Zinogre for a single of the rarest 2% drop: difficult
Fishing 100 biggest animal crossing river fish and somehow never hitting the common 50% result: insulting

When I was playing #MonsterHunterRise in random lobby I saw one player had Palico in outfit like this. I didn't even know lore behind it then, but thought it looked cool. And when we were waiting before start, that #cat sat on the floor in pose like this. Like it wanted to tell us: "It doesn't matter what you would do, you would screw this quest" :blobcatjoy:
