Driving between towns in Northern KZN this weekend and I am astounded by how bad the roads have become. Rutting, pot holes etc. I am told It is transport companies like #NIDA transport that are destroying the roads.... pity

Nida had mogelijk 10.000 inwoners in de eerste eeuw n.Chr. en was een van de grootste #Romeinse nederzettingen aan de Limes. De kelder hoorde bij een Romeins woongebouw, hoogstwaarschijnlijk uit het einde van de eerste eeuw n.Chr..

More unique Lithuanian vernacular architecture, this time from Neringa and Nida, on the Curonian Spit.

The distinctive timber cottages are painted maroon and blue.

The town itself is located on a spit between the Baltic Sea and a freshwater lagoon, with many trees and impeccable white sand beaches. It's a breathtaking location. (I'll aim to post some more photos soon.)
