I started listening to Ozzy in high school in the ‘90s, him and Black Sabbath. My most boomer music take might be that Paranoid is as close as you can get to a perfect album, especially before the 80 billion subgenres split off. The song #Paranoid might as well have been my life in high school (except for the whole “have a woman” thing, which wasn’t true for many years) and remains very true for me today.

So it feels very fitting tonight.

Being born late and having grown up without television, the discovery of #blacksabbath #ozzy performing "War Pigs" at #californiajam 1974 still strikes me as somewhat surreal. As a metal head, I had studied the history of #metal backwards to find its roots in #paranoid, but never before had I consciously rooted it in the times of the #hippie revolution.
