Natürlich muss man #BrandonCronenberg‘s #InfinityPool als ausdrückliche Kritik an der imperialen Lebensweise lesen. Dafür braucht der Film keine Allegorie: Vom Armutstourismus wird nicht nur der Einheimische ausgebeutet, sondern auch exakte menschliche Kopien einer verwahrlosten Wohlstandselite.

What kind of people go to those gated holiday resorts that need guards and walls to keep out the impoverished locals? Not very good ones according to Brandon Cronenberg. Some gruesome gore but more a horror of the human spirit than the body horror synonymous with the family name.

Just watched Infinity Pool, and... I liked it? It does this thing of being kind of predictable from scene to scene, despite being absolutely batshit in general, so I'm not entirely sure how I feel tbh, but I loved it as a critique of tourism, and the visuals are stunning ​​
