"20 more years of contempt for truth and democracy, of racism and sexism and homophobia and hatred for anyone who isn’t a rich white man or a wife who serves him? Or 20 more years of the tone that Harris presents: respect for others, mutual aid, and a belief in opportunity for all, not just those who have historically owned and run the U.S?”

Mind you… we can also prognosticate on what GOOD federated networks could do for the world too! Like… could #Mastadon platform a global movement like #MeToo or serve democratic agency for citizens in Iran, Palestine, Hong Kong? I am inclined to think the fediverse will be ruined by capricious capitalism but y’know… we *could* try being kind & minimalist for a few thousand generations for a change?

Recalling Twitter’s halcyon days - when it was the delight of microblogging nerdy types: and seeing the giddy shroom highs that people seem to be experiencing in #Mastadon right now (Likening it to the early days of socials). Where you think it could “go wrong” for the #Fediverse across the next two decades? Money, power, greed, politics, capricious humanity? #AllTheDumbThings

If we can see any problems now, we can prepare for & minimise them, right?
