@vosje62 the question's premise is factually incorrect, in that only 'Windows' is affected by #Crowdstrike problems.. RedHat, Debian and Mac hosts have been affected by #Crowdstrike in the past 2 years as well.
The only difference is that they don't have the same blanket coverage that #Windows has.. be thankful the #Linux boxen didn't go too. That would be far worse.
Blaming the #EU as root cause shows #Microsoft trying to shift blame for it's practices and saturation policies in the name of profit.. it's *Their* Blue screen the world saw as failure, Their MS signed flavor OS driver code, that shat the bed, this time.
It's merely 'Damage Control' for their rapidly deteriorating image, to blame someone else for their culture issues.
This does not however excuse corporate #ChequeBox software attitude to compliance, or #Crowdstrike's cr@p #QA and #Release testing, as the #RootCause.
Disasters at scale have many factors to them, the Ishikawa Diagram on this . . is a little bare.
