Due to AI conversion: Crowdstrike plans to cut 500 jobs worldwide
Crowdstrike is laying off five percent of its workforce. CEO Kurtz justifies this with a change due to AI. However, not all areas of the company are affected.
I’m sure the money saved by not sending this video player to thousands of people would have paid for a couple of FTEs. But, no. #crowdstrike sent this thing that plays ONE stupid video to a bunch of people, and now pretty much every single one of them is in a landfill somewhere. Suck my dick, Kurtz.
Professional solidarity should mean that everyone in #cybersecurity with a budget should send their dollars as far away from #crowdstrike as possible. Alas. We’re debating forming a co-op over at the Crankysec discord. Come check it out, and fuck those greedy bitches.

@AAKL @SecurityWeek Is CS planning on replacing the 500 people they are cutting for AI?
So, CS is cutting 500 people, to use that money to invest in something that will generate $10 Billion in recurring revenue?
As a CS customer and user, I already have issues with their Falcon platform. I doubt moving to AI or whatever they will do will be a net benefit to the customer.
500 employees will be sacrificed to pay the price to drive the company's long-term goal of achieving "$10 billion in annual recurring revenue."

@1br0wn For reliability let alone autonomy reasons, you likely also want staged deployments of updates that can be automatically rolled back if the updated version shows any problems (see also #CrowdStrike).
And no ability for third-party code to communicate outside the government’s own domain, except via tightly controlled government proxies which monitor and control all data in/out
So, what happened with that whole crowdstrike debacle? Did companies like Delta get a huge payout or discount?

@FritzAdalis @jerry "Baghdad Bob" gets put into cold storage and is brought out on occasions where his level of obliviousness is appropriate. For example - explaining the #CrowdStrike incident which was neither cyber, nor a security incident as it turns out.
