Today is the 75th anniversary of the Schuman declaration. The one that laid the foundations for the European Union. The one that has allowed us all to live in relative peace and prosperity. While not perfect, the EU is still a fantastic construct and beats the fascist alternatives that are on the rise again.

I still remember the days when I had to pull out my passport when I traveled from one Europe country to another one, juggling different currencies, dealing with crazy-expensive phone calls and mobile data while traveling...

We are living in such a better european continent today. Let's continue on this path of a strong and united Europe!

“Europe will be built through concrete achievements which first create a de facto solidarity.” On May 9, 1950, Robert Schuman presented a declaration now known as the #SchumanDeclaration, the first step towards European integration.
Since 1985, #EuropeDay is celebrated on 9 May.
